On April 24, the 19th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition opened at the China International Exhibition Center. Chinese automaker Chery Automobile presented a comprehensive multi-brand lineup, showcasing 57 vehicle models and 31 advanced technology exhibits, highlighting its latest developments in new energy vehicles (NEVs) and intelligent mobility.
As one of the key events in the global automotive industry, this year’s Beijing Auto Show has attracted major automakers and supply chain players worldwide. Against the backdrop of accelerating electrification and smart transformation, Chinese car manufacturers are continuing to expand their international presence.
At the exhibition, Chery displayed five brands—CHERY, EXEED, iCAUR, OMODA & JAECOO, and Lepas—under one roof, covering internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric technologies. The lineup reflects the company’s strategy of targeting diversified market segments through differentiated positioning.
The showcased technologies span power systems, battery innovation, intelligent cockpits, and driver-assistance systems, indicating continued investment in core automotive technologies.
Among the highlights, Lepas debuted as a new NEV brand focused on user experience, combining design aesthetics, interior space, and smart technology. With the concept “Elegance Drives the World,” the brand aims to align with a broader shift in the NEV market from performance-based competition toward value-driven consumption.
Industry observers note that consumers are increasingly prioritizing comfort, intelligent features, and overall driving experience, beyond traditional metrics such as range and acceleration.
Lepas vehicles are developed based on the LEX intelligent NEV platform, with a structured lineup including L4, L6, and L8 models, designed to address a range of mobility scenarios.L4: future-oriented intelligent mobility,L6: mid-size SUV for urban and family use,L8: large SUV for long-distance and premium travel.
The platform emphasizes a balance of safety, comfort, and efficiency, supported by Chery’s global R&D network. As part of its international expansion, Lepas is preparing to enter the European market. According to available information, Vassilakis Group (Autohellas) has been appointed as the official importer for Greece.
In the initial phase, the brand plans to introduce two SUV models—the L6 and L8—to meet local demand for both urban commuting and intercity travel.
In recent years, Greece has been advancing its energy transition and promoting green mobility, creating growing demand for new energy vehicles. At the same time, Chinese automakers have developed strong capabilities across the EV value chain, opening up new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
Industry analysts suggest that the entry of Chinese NEV brands into the Greek market could contribute to expanding trade and collaboration between the two countries in the field of sustainable transportation.
As Chinese automakers continue to expand across Europe, Southern European markets, including Greece, are becoming an increasingly important destination for their global strategies.
